UPDATE!!! MAMA REVEAL "YG" ARTIST NOT ATTENDING THIS YEAR

The 'Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA)' discussed the absence of YG Entertainment's artists from the awards show this year.

During a recent press conference for '2016 MAMA,' Kang Hee Jung, head of Mnet, talked about YG not attending the show, saying, "Artists usually are considerate of 'MAMA's schedule and date, and during that, we announce the candidates and attendees as we get ready."

He added, "We do not discuss awards while we talk about who will attend. We try our best to have a fair and great show."

He also explained, "In regards to YG Entertainment, we expressed our desire for them to attend, and then heard that they could not come because of schedules abroad. We were sad to hear the news...we respect YG's decision."

This year's 'MAMA' will take place in Hong Kong on December 2!

NEW!!! "PARK BOM" 2NE1 POST IN HER INSTA ON THE DAY OF DISBANDMENT, "MAKING FANS FEEL HOPEFULL"

With YG Entertainment's announcement of 2NE1's disbandment, many fans are feeling heartbroken and confused. However, Park Bom, who did not renew her contract with YG, is making her fans feel better with her latest social media post.

On November 25, Park Bom posted a video of herself on Twitter and Instagram. The video is of her trying to record herself singing; she frowns in a cute way when the task doesn't go as she wants. The caption she wrote reads, "Practicing singing so I can show it to you guys...It's a new song, so I don't know how many times I practiced..."

Fans are relieved to see Park Bom who seems to be upbeat and feeling pretty good, and also excited that she is practicing her singing.

NEW !!! YG ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES "2NE1" DISBANDMENT, MEAN WHILE "NAM TAE HYUN" DEPART FROM "WINNER"

On November 25, YG Entertainment officially announced 2NE1's disbandment and Nam Tae Hyun's departure from WINNER.

Official announcements are as follows:

"Our contract with 2NE1 came to an end in May of 2016, and as we faced a situation where Minzy is no longer with us, we ultimately came to a decision of 2NE1's official disbandment after long discussion.

For the past 7 years, 2NE1 was a representative group of YG. We, too, cannot express how upset and disappointed we are. However, we judge that it'll be difficult to continue promoting. We decided that instead of looking forward to 2NE1's unpredictable promotions, we should rather focus on the solo promotions of the members.

We sincerely appreciate everyone who loved 2NE1 and their music.

Meanwhile, in May, YG renewed the contract with CL and Dara. Unfortunately, we officially announce that Park Bom did not have a renewal."

YG also officially announced Nam Tae Hyun's departure.

"WINNER, who announced to have active promotions this year, unfortunately, had to halt all promotions due to Nam Tae Hyun's mental health issues. YG and rest of the members looked forward to and considered first and foremost for Nam Tae Hyun's recovery.

However, it's a mental issue he struggled with since young age, and his recovery and return are unpredictable. Therefore, we judged that it's impossible for him to carry on promotions with WINNER.

We are officially announcing that as of November 18, our contract with Nam Tae Hyun came to an end. We believe that the pressure on Nam Tae Hyun in causing issues to the group can no longer be halting the promotion of WINNER who's only a group of 2 years.

Nam Tae Hyun can no longer be with WINNER, however, we wish for them to remain colleagues who can give support for each other's individual music promotions.

YG plans to officially start preparing for WINNER's promotions with 4 members without any new addition to the group. Please give great support and encouragement for Nam Tae Hyun and WINNER who's facing a new start as a group of 4."

On November 16, the 2016 Asia Artist Awards held a red carpet and awards ceremony.

EXO, BTS, BLACKPINK, NCT 127, SEVENTEEN, Gummy, Block B, AOA, B.A.P, Hwang Chi Yeol, VIXX, TWICE, Dynamic Duo, MAMAMOO, Han Dong Geun, and Cosmic Girls attended the event.

NEW!!! "PERFORMANCE" MELON MUSIC AWARDS 2016

The 2016 Melon Music Awards took place on November 19 KST at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, South Korea.

The Melon Music Awards, presented by Kakao, honors K-pop artists and their achievements this year based on their performance on Melon, one of Korea’s largest online music store. There are a total of 23 different awards, divided into four broad categories: Main, Popularity, Music Style, and Special Awards.

Along with the awards, this years hottest stars graced the event with special performances of their hit songs. EXO, TWICE, Red Velvet, MAMAMOO, BTS, BLACKPINK, BewhY, SEVENTEEN, 10cm, I.O.I, iKON, GFRIEND, Sechs Kies, Zico, and Apink’s Jung Eunji performed this year. Check out their performances below.
